ARP Announces the Quick 8 Class
Alaska Raceway Park has released the rules for the Quick 8 class, which will replace Pro Nostalgia on the Top Eliminator weekends. This exciting bracket class will feature cars running between a 7.00 to 8.49 index on a .4 tenths Pro Tree. Quick 8 is expected to be a highly competitive class of some of the fastest cars next to Top Eliminator that ARP has to offer.

Quick 8
Dial:
7.00 to 8.49 dial in, handicap start. Dial cannot be more than 2 tenths slower than your quickest qualifying time.
Entries:
Minimum of 8 entries, competition limited to top 8 qualifiers. Those that don’t qualify will be entered in Top Sportsman (TS) or Mod ET (ME). If the minimum is not met, racers will be entered in TS or ME.
Any Top Eliminator entry slower that 7.00 that does not make the TE ladder can use their TE qualifying pass to qualify for Q8.
Tree:
4 tenths, Pro
Entry Fee:
$75, car, driver and two pit crew
Vehicle Specs and Motor Type
• Body: Any body types, see IHRA Top Sportsman and Top Dragster rules
• Motor type: Any engine combo
• Fuel: Alcohol or Gasoline only
• No Electric, Pneumatic, or Remotely Activated Throttle Stops
• Any and all Traction Control Devices are prohibited
• No Optical Sensors or down track Stutter Boxes
Ladder:
Chicago-style Old School Sportsman competition ladder based on qualifying time with fastest running the fastest and the slowest running the slowest. Limited to top 8 qualifiers.
Red Lights:
Not allowed
Payback:
$1000 purse provided there are 8 qualifiers.
60/40 split between top two.
$200 bonus to the top qualifier.
Points:
Points will not be kept.
Tow Vehicles:
Limited to non full size vehicles, must use return road to go to top end
Licensing:
Must have appropriate IHRA competition license for their ET.
